An afternoon on the highest active volcano in Europe. We climb to 2,000 metres by 4x4, walk a recent lava flow with a vulcanological guide, then descend to a family winery on the eastern slopes for a tasting of Nerello Mascalese as the sun sets over the Ionian Sea.
